MMS Conference 2002 with Application Exhibition

MULTIMEDIA MESSAGING SERVICE (MMS), which is the extension of text-based Short Messaging Service (SMS), can enable messages to be delivered using lots of different media including text, images, audio and video.

The transition from SMS to MMS may be as important on mobile phones as the transition from DOS to Windows was for PC.  MMS should not be regarded as the transitional technology prior to 3G, but is the key driver of the 3G business case and will contribute a huge amount to earning a return on 3G investments.

Hong Kong is the pioneer in Asia Pacific to commercially launch MMS.  How can we go a step forward to develop Hong Kong into the “Mobile Multi-Media Hub” of the region?

A MMS Conference at the topic of "Hong Kong - The Mobile Multi-Media Hub of Asia Pacific", organized by ITAHK and WTIA which capturing and exploring the aforesaid areas, was successfully taken place at J.W. Marriott Hotel on 31 May, 2002.  The conference was received full-house.  There were also MMS application demonstration held in conjunction with the conference.
